Giving Expression to Aboriginal Title + Treaty Rights

Our rights and title are sacred, and held at the local level.

We have governed our territories since the beginning of time.  This sacred responsibility is part of our blood memory.  I commit to provide necessary support to advance all actions on the land and in the courts, including the progression of the Tsilhqot'in Decision.

These are just a few of my ideas of how to support our communities...

Campaign Platform

Protecting and Promoting Language, Traditions + Culture

First Nations leaders are duty bound to protect our cultural heritage laws.

We need to educate people in this country on its own history throguh the integration of curriculum in public schools that tells the whole story and brings to light the colonialistic doctrines that this country was formed on.

Ensuring Health, Wellness + Good Governance

The power of sport has brought real change in my community.

As a hockey player, coach and dad I can say with certainty that being a good player means being a respectful team mate, supporting one another, freely giving praise and appreciating the common experience in both loss and wins.

Safeguarding our Resources, Participating in the Economy

Positive relationship building with industry.

Some risk associated with industrial development are just too high and cannot be afforded access to traditional territories or First Nation's consent.  But not all.

Understanding what is important to your community

Sharing, learning + supporting

Shane advocates a grass-roots approach whereby he intends to support initiatives that are relevant to your community.  Please share with him your concerns.
